A new year is upon us and just like Southwest Florida, the year ahead is looking bright!
Hi everyone, it’s Marcus Larrea with Palm Paradise Real Estate and I’m here to tell you about all of the awesome events to attend with family and friends around Southwest Florida for the month of January!
50th Annual Fort Myers Boat Show
Kicking off the month is Fort Myers’ 50th Annual Fort Myers Boat Show! Set on the Caloosahatchee River, exhibits wind along the river, through Centennial Park and the newly renovated Caloosa Sound Convention Center and to the east along Edwards Drive. This is the largest display of boats, boating products, and services on Florida’s west coast, featuring over 500 boats on land, representing over 130 manufacturers.
Hundreds of accessory exhibits feature everything from engines and electronics to boat lifts, boating services, fishing gear, clothing and just about anything else you might need on the water. This event kicks off on Thursday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 8th.

Punta Gorda Half Marathon & 5K
Did you set any fitness goals for the new year? The beautiful city of Punta Gorda will be the site of the Punta Gorda Half Marathon & 5K on Saturday, January 7th! Laishley Park and Veterans Park will be the epicenter for this 5K, with a starting time of 7 a.m. Participants are encouraged to visit the pristine and powerful Veterans Park right near the starting line after the event.
Nearly constant water views with hundreds of boats will provide scenic views as well as running underneath a huge Banyan Tree for those looking carefully. All participants will receive a tank top or t-shirt, a finish medal, snacks, free race photos and a finish video!

38th Annual Cape Coral Art Festival & Market Place
Returning to Cape Parkway on Saturday, January 14th and Sunday, January 15th, the 38th Annual Cape Coral Art Festival and Market Place is back! One of the largest special events in Lee County, over 120,000 attendees enjoyed this art festival in 2022 and the Cape Coral Art Festival and Market Place has been ranked the 5th best art show in the nation by Sunshine Artists.
With hundreds of booths lining Cape Parkway, guests will enjoy over 300 artists displaying their work in fine art, to photography, sculptures, furniture, local art and more, alongside a variety of food and beverage vendors. This is one of the best ways to explore downtown Cape Coral in a leisurely fashion, with many local restaurants and bars to experience as well! This event is free for the public to enjoy!

St. Petersburg Seafood & Music Festival
Join us on January 27th through the 29th in Williams Park for the 5th Annual St. Petersburg Seafood and Music Festival. Select from delectable foods cooked on-site, incorporating the freshest ingredients by local restaurants and food purveyors. A variety of seafood entrees and vegetarian dishes will be available alongside a variety of side dishes and desserts. While you enjoy your meal, sit back and relax to musical entertainment consisting of live on-stage performances by some of the most creative and talented musicians from both the local and regional circuits.
Gather your family and friends to enjoy the food, music and beautiful views of downtown St. Petersburg and as an added bonus, shop a marketplace of arts, crafts and fine products between musical performances.
