    As the year comes to an end, more and more people are moving to Southwest Florida and you can tell by the numbers.

    In Lee County, 1,180 single family homes were sold in December of 2019. That’s up 30% from December of 2018.
    2019 total homes sold are up 3.1% from 2018.
     
    In Collier County, there were 495 single family homes sold in December of 2019.
    That’s up 32% from December of 2018.
    Total single family homes sold in Collier County in 2019 are up 9.5% from 2018.
     
    In Lee County, there were 610 townhomes and condos sold in December of 2019.
    That’s up over 48% over December of 2018.
    Total townhomes and condos sold for 2019 are up 3.6% from 2018.
     
    In Collier County, there were 551 town homes and condos sold in December of 2019.
    That’s up 34% from December of 2018.
    In Collier County, total townhomes and condos sold in 2019 are up 1.5% from 2018.
     
    In Lee County, the median sale price for single family homes and December of 2019 was $262,000.
    That’s up 8.3% from December of 2018.
     
    In Collier County, the median sale price for single family homes in December of 2019 was $450,000.
    That’s up 4.4% from December of 2018.
     
    In Lee County, the median sale price for townhomes and condos sold was $208,250.
    That’s up 1.6% from December of 2018.
     
    In Collier County the median sale price for townhomes and condos in December of 2019 was $270,000.
    That’s up 3.8% from December of 2018.

    Looking ahead to the first quarter of 2020, we expect the real estate market in Southwest Florida to remain strong. It’s a great time for sellers to sell as inventory continues to drop and it’s a great time for buyers to buy as interest rates stay low.
