Fantastic Holiday Events Happening in December 2021
Hi, it's Marcus Larrea, and I just wanted to wish you a Happy Holidays from the entire Palm Paradise Real Estate Team! As we move into the month of December, the holiday festivities are in full swing around Southwest Florida, which means many celebrations and activities for family and friends alike to enjoy.
The month of December is looking bright as we kick off our month of cheer with the 2021 Festival of Trees at the Sydney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers. Experience beautiful trees decorated by local businesses to raise money for Goodwill of Southwest Florida and Sydney and Berne Davis Art Center, while enjoying activities full of fun, food, arts & crafts, and even a train ride at Santa's Block Party at the 14th Annual Festival of Trees. The festival runs from December 3rd through December 6th with various admission times each day, so be sure to check their website for more details!
Heading further south, take a stroll through Naples as they partake in one of the many Christmas tree lighting ceremonies throughout Southwest Florida. The 48th Annual Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting is taking place on Friday, December 3rd at 5 p.m on 5th Avenue South and there will be plenty of live music, local dining options, a Living Nativity by the First Church of the Nazarene, a Skating Rink and even an appearance by Santa Claus himself. This is a great way to explore all of the wonderful amenities that 5th Avenue Naples has to offer while enjoying beautiful holiday decorations.
Dust off the ugly sweater in the back of your closet and get ready to pair it with some tacky pants for St. Petersburg's 6th Annual Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl. This multi-stop bar crawl includes Christmas movie trivia, virtual bingo, live music, and lots of laughs along the way. The bar crawl starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 11th at Thirsty First Bar in Downtown St. Petersburg. More information on ticket pricing can be found on their website.
Living in a boater's paradise, we have our own unique holiday traditions that can only be found in Southwest Florida. Pack some snacks and pull up a seat waterside at Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral on Saturday, December 18th. Boaters illuminate our local waterways with colorful lights, festive decorations, and music as they parade their boats along the Caloosahatchee River at the annual Holiday Boat Along from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Rounding out our month of festivities, savor the last few hours of 2021 at the Fort Myers New Year's Eve Downtown Countdown on Friday, December 31st. Ring in the New Year in style throughout the Downtown Fort Myers River District with live entertainment, DJs, vendors, food, and drinks. In the minutes leading up to 2022, there will be a ball drop on Hendry Street followed by a fireworks show at midnight! You won't want to miss this! The fun begins at 8 p.m. and continues through the night until 1 a.m. Visit the Downtown Fort Myers Website for more information.
