Social Southwest Florida: November Edition
November is here and with it comes the start of holiday events, family gatherings and an abundance of delicious home-cooked meals! Hi it’s Marcus Larrea with Palm Paradise Real Estate. As we head into the last month of Fall, Southwest Florida’s calendar of events is looking almost as full as we are after a Thanksgiving dinner.
Kicking the month off on somewhat of a healthy note is Sunset Yoga at The St. Pete Pier on Wednesday November 3rd. Join the Body Electric Yoga Company every first Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 8pm on the grassy field at the St Petersburg Pier. Enjoy a guided, fun yoga class that accommodates everyone’s skill level while taking in the coastal breezes and a stunning sunset. Although the class is free, donations are accepted and proceeds will benefit a different local charity each month.
Join the WINK News team at Centennial Park in Fort Myers on November 6th and 7th from 11am to 5pm, for their annual Taste of The Town event. This weekend-long event showcases the best of Lee County’s local restaurants and businesses, while friends and family are invited to enjoy live music and a children’s fun area. Over 25 food trucks and kiosks will be available for guests to enjoy, and admission is free for the first 2,500 people.
November 11th through the 14th, from Centennial Park to the Fort Myers City Yacht Basin, boats of all sizes and styles from over 130 different manufacturers will be on display indoors, on land and in water for the 49th Annual Fort Myers Boat Show. This is the largest display of boats, boating products and services on Florida’s west coast, with over 600 boats on display. Set on the Caloosahatchee River, exhibits wind along the river, through Centennial Park and Edwards Drive, through the newly-renovated Caloosa Sound Convention Center and the City Yacht Basin. Whether you’re in the market for a boat or just wanting to see what’s new, the Fort Myers Boat Show has something for every boat lover.
Join the Friends of Lover’s Key on November 18th, for a night of music, fun and craft brews on one of Southwest Florida’s most beautiful beaches, Lover’s Key State Park. The Beach N Brews Craft Beer Event will featuring craft beverages from several local breweries and delicious treats from local food trucks to enjoy. Tickets start at $50 per person for admission from 6pm to 9pm, with all of the proceeds going to the Welcome & Discovery Center Project at Lover’s Key State Park.
Stroll amidst life-size sculptures, beautiful paintings, one of a kind jewelry, breathtaking photography and more at the 11th Annual Coconut Point Art Festival November 20th through the 21st. Exhibitors will occupy the streets of Coconut Point over the course of two days for guests to enjoy art of all mediums, delicious bites to eat and the fabulous amenities that Coconut Point has to offer nearby.
Before you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast, why not start the morning off with a brisk 5k run at one of the several Thanksgiving 5k’s throughout Southwest Florida? One of our favorites is Naples’ original Thanksgiving Day running event, the gobble Gobble 5k. This event has been a running tradition for thousands of families for more than two decades! The Gobble Gobble 5k has a long history of raising ten’s of thousands of dollars each year for St. Matthew’s House. The race begins at 7:30am at The Village Shops on Venetian Bay and registration details are available online at run lite events dot com.
